What works when you are trying to lose weight anyway? Meal replacement shakes? Tons of salad? A cabbage soup diet? Gluten-free? Vegetarian?

None of these are the answer to eating healthier! At Dario, we focus on what truly works. And what works to help you have more energy and feel good is 1) making small changes to your existing habits, 2) knowing what changes to make.

So, what helps us maintain a healthy body weight? Foods that are…

  • Higher in fiber
  • Whole, like whole wheat flour
  • Packed with nutrition (nutrient-dense)
  • Lower in processed sugars
  • Balanced between protein, fat & carbs
  • Just enough, but not too much

This approach is evidence-based, so we know it works! It’s also flexible & affordable.

Pretty simple, right? We know this approach can help support heart health, is great for preventing or living with diabetes and/or hypertension and supports weight loss. It’s not restrictive either!

What’s your first step? Start small! Here are 3 options that other Dario members have found helpful:

Start with just making one meal healthier (i.e. pack ahead your lunches, plan out dinner menus, or make breakfast healthier)
Just add veggies and fruits! Budget-friendly items that last can be found in the frozen and canned aisle at the grocery store
Switch out refined grains for whole grains (buy whole wheat bread, try brown rice, try whole oats)
