If you want to stay motivated the secret is knowing you won’t always feel motivated! And to make it trickier, you won’t always feel motivated by the same things.

If you’re trying to lose weight, a common motivator is looking better or fitting into old clothes. And there is nothing wrong with that! The problem with that (external) motivator is that it doesn’t last. The minute we are faced with a tall glass of sweet tea or a donut, it’s not so important to fit into those old jeans, right? When our motivation is tied to something internal and important, we are much more likely to be successful over a long period of time.

  • Looking better is great! But knowing you made changes so you can be there longer for your grandchildren, well, that’s really motivating.
  • Waking up every day with more energy can make all the difference in not only your health, but your outlook on life
  • Or knowing that you were able to kick a soda habit – that’s satisfying. You’ve regained control!

There are no ‘bad’ motivators. What is your main motivator right now?

Keep in mind, you can set reminders in the app to help you stay on target.
